Hovmand develops battery-powered lifters for safe and ergonomic handling of heavy and awkward loads in logistics, intralogistics and industrial production environments.
The lifters are used in warehouses, distribution centres and automated production flows, where flexible material handling is required alongside automation. Hovmand solutions support manual handling tasks around automated systems, such as supplying components to production lines, handling loads at packing and palletising stations, and managing materials at conveyors and robot cells.
All lifters are built on a modular platform and configured to match the specific load, workflow and working environment. Through a wide range of tools and accessories, each solution is tailored to the application, whether handling boxes, reels, drums or customised items. Lifting and handling equipment for packaging and film reels
Hovmand offers a smart range of ways to lift and move packaging material in the form of film rolls. From lifting aids for handling mandrel or V-block rolls to special designs where the roll is gripped in the core or from the outside and turned over manually or electrically. Our industrial lifters enhance any lifting and transport process that requires physical effort. They increase the efficiency and ergonomics in the workflow through: the use of larger rolls, easier picking of the roll from the pallet, direct insertion into the packaging machine and placement of the roll far up or down. All of this can be done by a single person with one hand. The advantages here are that downtimes can be reduced and storage space is used more effectively, since it is possible to stack the film rolls higher. All of these improvements help reduce costs in the production process and eliminate unhealthy manual lifting.
Systems for easy handling
The Hovmand lift can be equipped with a range of tools to enable the easy and problem-free handling of reels. A single boom lifts reels from the core. A double boom lifts reels from underneath leaving the reel’s core accessible. The horizontally rotatable V-Block lifts reels from underneath.
Reel manipulators
Manual or electrical reel manipulators grip the inside of the reel core with expanding grippers. They are then able to transport, lift and turn reels. The reel manipulators can tilt reels for direct loading into packaging machines. These tools enable the easy lifting of reels even when they are closely stacked.
Gripping and turning equipment with external grippers
Electrical gripping and turning equipment with external grippers are suitable for large reels or reels with booms. They grip from the outside and easily turn the reels to the required position. Rotating by 360° is also possible. One person can then effortlessly transport large and heavy rolls.
Reel Handler
The reel handler makes the handling of packaging film easy and efficient. It takes the reel from the pallet, turns it as required and loads it directly into the packaging machine. Hovmand lifting aids help make working conditions easier and improve the health and satisfaction of employees.
Hovmand E300 lifter in stainless steel: Impressive strength with polished features
The E300 raises everything to a new level: in terms of hygiene, this stainless steel lifting aid meets even the rigorous requirements that apply to pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food processing and cosmetics. This is due to its elaborately electropolished surface finish that allows only the very slightest degree of particle adhesion. - extra powerful lifting aid for secure handling of loads up to a weight of 300 kg and a height of 3 m - for lifting, turning, tipping and transporting drums, kettles, reels, boxes and other raw material containers - can be customised with various electrical and manual stainless steel lifting accessories - e.g. boom, drum or reel gripper, drum tipper, fork - Tailor-made! Lifting accessories can be configured as required according to customer specifications. - On request, the E300 is also available in a version designed for use in explosive environments according to ATEX.
Hovmand lifting aids for handling reels
Hovmand provides intelligent options for lifting and moving reels. From lifting aids for handling reels with booms or V-Blocks to special constructions which grip reels either at the core or from the outside and then turn them either manually or electrically. Shown here: INOX 200 – stainless steel. Our lifting aids enhance virtually any process involving lifting and transportation. Workflow efficiency is then improved by larger reels being used, easier lifting of reels from pallets, direct loading into packaging machines, and the positioning of reels at very high or very low heights. All this can be done single-handedly by one person. Downtimes are then reduced and warehousing space used more effectively by stacking reels higher. Such benefits help to reduce production costs and often enable unsuitable lifting and conveying equipment to be disposed of.
Hovmand handling and transport systems for crates and boxes
Many production processes and logistics systems involve crates, boxes and containers that have to be moved from A to B. Since both the goods and the available space are usually too small for large and heavy forklift trucks, manual transport is often the only option. However, handling even lightweight crates can overstress the spines of the employees concerned. Hovmand designs and manufactures lifters that provide effective and ergonomic solutions to this dilemma. With a lifter and a fork or platform tool, several boxes or Euro stacking containers can be lifted from pallets and transported to their destination. Individual crates and boxes can be conveniently lifted to working height or placed on a shelf using the lifter. To ensure compliance with all environments, we also offer forks and platforms made of 100% stainless steel, perfect for hygienic application. Impact 200
Impact 200 - Features remote control, built-in overload protection, safety clutch and battery indicator. - Lifts objects such as crates, reels or barrels up to 200 kg. Impact 130

E300
E300 - Meets various strict hygiene requirements of food, cosmetic, chemical and pharmaceutical industries (IP66). - Allows for gripping, lifting, rotation and tipping of loads of up to 300 kg – at heights of up to 3 m. QC3 - the most compact reel and drum lifter of its kind
The QC3 electric gripper can be combined with the very light and manoeuvrable Impact 130-3 and INOX 90-3 lifters to open up new options for the safe and efficient handling of packaging material and drums of up to 60 kg. For example, you can take reels from a stack and insert them directly into a machine. The QC3 performs this task while conforming to work and safety regulations and without physical strain. Its special grip and turn function also enables you to grip drums and empty their contents from heights of up to 2.20 m. Furthermore, the QC3 means your existing infrastructure can be better utilised, and involves no costly conversion work – the ideal lifting aid for production, hygiene areas, warehousing and logistics.
Novelty: Flex Fork
With its underlying carriage construction, the new Flex Fork can be easily and conveniently adjusted to different crate widths by the customer – even during use. This means that not only standard crates can be moved effortlessly but also wider or narrower ones. Normally, handling different crate widths requires investment in an additional device. But these additional costs are eliminated for the customer thanks to the variable adjustment options provided by the Flex Fork.
